Back to the Rhythm 🎶
Embracing change, finding balance, and carrying summer’s energy forward 🍂
And just like that—we’re back. Summer is slowly coming to a close, and even though it’s only September, I think it’s safe to say we’re all ready for cooler, cozier days ahead. I love summer so much, so this time of year always feels a little bittersweet. But I’m also excited to get back into my routine and dive into the work I love most—teaching.
I do still teach during the summer, but the vibe is different. It’s calmer, more reflective—a chance for somatic training and active rest. After 10 months of dancing, the body really needs that balance. We explore new movements and ideas to support what we’ve been working on, while giving space to recharge.
I’ve been thinking about that a lot outside the studio too. Rest isn’t always easy—it takes time to learn how to slow down, turn things off, and not feel guilty about it. But even though the season is changing, the fundamentals of who we are keep going—they just pivot. And that pivot can actually bring so many new opportunities.
This year, I’m really feeling that shift with lots of exciting change ahead. Change can be uncomfortable, but it’s also what pushes us, keeps us curious, and helps us grow. That’s something to celebrate.
So here are a few little things I’m doing to carry that summer feeling with me into fall and winter:
Keeping up with meal prep
Moving for me (and resting when I need it)
Taking one thing at a time
Letting people around me help
Prioritizing sleep
It’s nothing fancy, but it’s real. Change is hard—it’s as much a mental game as a physical one. But when we trust the process and stay committed to ourselves, it always takes us further than we think.
With love,
Victoria
