Moving Thoughts #6: The Beauty of Being in Between
Lately, I've been thinking about how easy it is to believe that life is always waiting for the next milestone.
The next job.The next trip. The next season. The next version of ourselves.
I've caught myself saying, "Once this settles down..." more times than I can count.
Once summer is over.Once work slows down.Once I've made a decision.Once I have more time.
But life has a funny way of reminding us that it rarely pauses long enough for everything to feel perfectly in place.
This season has been full in the best way. I've had the chance to return to places that feel familiar, take on new opportunities, meet new people, and continue building dreams that mean so much to me. At the same time, it's also been a season of uncertainty, changing plans, and learning to trust that not having every answer doesn't mean I'm on the wrong path.
I've come to realize that maybe this is what growth actually looks like.
Not waiting until everything feels certain, but continuing to move forward with intention anyway.
Confidence isn't something we magically wake up with one day. It's something we build every time we choose to show up—even before we feel completely ready.
One class.One conversation.One opportunity.One small step at a time.
There is something really beautiful about allowing yourself to be in the middle of the story instead of rushing toward the ending. The "in-between" can feel uncomfortable, but it can also be where we grow the most. It's where we discover what we're capable of, learn to trust ourselves, and find joy in the little moments we might have otherwise overlooked.
So wherever you find yourself today—starting something new, waiting for an answer, chasing a dream, or simply trying to appreciate where you are—I hope you remember that you don't have to have everything figured out to keep moving.
Progress isn't always loud.
Sometimes it's choosing to take the next step, even when you can't see the whole path ahead.
And maybe that's more than enough.
Until next time, keep moving.
